The Snooze Button Won’t Make You Feel Rested
Probably one of the most used and overly abused “apps” or buttons is not one of the newly released on the latest iPad or the like; no, it’s the good, old fashion snooze button on your alarm clock. Many, if not all, have been guilty of hitting the snooze button “just one more time, for a couple of more minutes of rest”. But, honestly, how many times have you felt a difference in your energy levels after hitting the snooze button?
Muscle & Fitness not too long ago published, “You may find it difficult to lift early before work, but a new study from Appalachian State University shows that training in the morning is best for your sleep cycle. Subjects who exercised in the morning spent 85% more time in light sleep and 75% more time in deep sleep over subjects who trained in the evening. Once you get into the habit of hitting the gym early, you’ll be happy you did.”
