Coffee & Caffeine: One Of The Best Energy Boosters & How Much To Drink
There are a ton of supplements that you can take to give you that needed boost of energy, “pick me up”, etc., to help you get the most out of your workout for the day, whether you’re following P90X, Slim in 6, Shaun T’s INSANITY, or any other of BeachBody’s extreme fitness programs. One of the biggest obstacles that a lot of people trying to lose weight or gain lean muscle mass have is simply having the motivation to get started for that day. There a couple of different tips and tricks I like to use to help get me going and get me “psyched” and “pumped up” for my training session. One of them is good old fashion coffee.
In future posts I’ll get into several more of the benefits of caffeine, the main ingredient of coffee, but today I just want to make you aware of how great it is, and how inexpensive it is. I’m going to let you in on a little secret: the #1 ingredient in almost every single weight loss supplement is…caffeine! Sure, there are other ingredients thrown into the mix, but the big daddy of them is caffeine.
Despite what many claim, the caffeine in coffee is just as effective as taking caffeine in other forms, like No-Doze or Vivarin pills, or certain types of tea, like green tea and woo-lang. The most popular recommended dosage to drink is 150-400 mgs of caffeine about 30-60 minutes before working out; depending on your tolerance, size, height, etc. So, drink up!
