How Long Does It Take To Lose Weight or Build Muscle?

14 March 2010 No Comment

That’s a very loaded question.  Everyone seems to want to know exactly how long will it take them to lose weight, burn body fat, tone up, gain muscle mass, and build strength, depending on the individual goal.  Well, this all depends on several factors, so it differs from one trainer to the next.  For example, your genetics, hormonal levels, training and dieting consistency, frequency, past experience with working out and eating right, medical conditions, intensity of training, gender, etc., all play a vital role in how long you’ll take to see results……because at the end of the day that’s what we’re all after, is it not?  I mean, we want to be able to see and feel the “fruits of our labor”.

So, even though there are many different pieces to this puzzle, that doesn’t mean you can’t see significant changes and results in a short amount of time.  In a matter of months you can lose a good amount of body fat and weight, and gain some size and strength (muscularly).  However, this all hinges on you putting in your part.  You can’t be skipping workouts here and there.  You can’t decide to go off of your diet or nutritional regimen whenever you feel like it.  The knife cuts both ways.  However, if you’re doing everything right and consistently, an extreme fitness program like P90X is probably going to be your best bet, since there are just way too many people that have completely changed the way they look in just a matter of 3 months, aka 90 days, with this fitness routine.
